About me
(Rachel Tawil Kenyon)
Little
Born in Brooklyn, raised in Los Angeles. No wonder I have such good balance on my Yoga mat! My favorite parts about 'where I come from' are my huge, out loud Jewish family, the exposure I received being a minority for a good chunk of my school life, and not listening when everyone said I was too young to have a baby.
Life is rich in mysterious ways.
In the Middle
Literally... I found my way, with my one-year-old best friend on my hip, to Middle Tennessee.
Twenty-six years later, I still love it here!
In the middle, I met my second best friend who patiently waited for me to give the thumbs up to the marriage proposal and another kid (maybe in that order...).
Tennessee also brought me to teaching. I have spent weekends for over twenty years working with kids and teens at my synagogue.
Ahhhh
It's what comes after 'Ah-Ha'.
With my family at my side, career established, and my commitment to social action firmly IN action,
I found my writing.
My mom is an artist and poet, so I credit her with my love of writing in rhyme. My two kids and my husband, with a supporting cast that I cherish, have inspired my words and my actions.
Truly a good life.
Truly happy.
